Supply Chain Process And Systems Planning
- Refined strategic business plan initiative for a major Lead Logistics Provider
- Developed global strategies, and implemented supply chain systems and processes to support aftermarket operations. An investment of $90 million was projected to have a NPV of $195 million over 5 years; and $147 million recurring each year thereafter.
- Directed the planning and development of a single North American Service Parts system for engineering, materials management, warehousing and order processing.
- Implemented a customer assistance center by consolidating six regional activities, resulting in improved customer service levels and reduced operational costs.
Third Party Logistics Contracting
- P&L responsibility for $500,000,000 North American logistics operations and coordination of global logistics aftermarket activity.
- Negotiated and implemented a Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) agreement. Clarified roles and responsibilities; created a comprehensive set of operating metrics and reporting structure.
- Directed various projects focused on global supply chain metrics, cycle time reduction and containerization strategy.
Supply Chain Management
- P&L responsibility for all aftermarket operations in Canada, including six distribution centers, engineering, materials management and customer order processing.
- Implemented lean changes in operational and administrative areas, leading to “world class” levels of productivity and 66% reduction in cycle times.
- New facility start-up, consolidated five distribution centers into a single “state of the art” operation servicing over 1,000 automotive dealers and independent distributors. Introduced extensive scanning, process control and automated material handling technologies.
- Negotiated an innovative team concept agreement with the local UAW covering 500 hourly employees. Resulted in improved workforce flexibility.
